Official Statement on Cancellation of 2020 Carnival

During this unprecedented time in all our lives, we are forced to make difficult decisions. Our highest priority at this time is the health and safety of all; our volunteers, patrons, vendors and the people who have supported our carnival for the last 51 years. This year’s carnival theme, “Generations – Building their Future,” emphasizes taking care of those most important to us. After consultation with Fr. Dan Kirk and members of our carnival council, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 St. Charles Borromeo Carnival. Given the uncertainty of timing and the need to protect others, cancelling is the most prudent decision we can make at this time. That said, the carnival will be back and stronger than ever in June of 2021. Thank you for understanding this heartbreaking decision and please know of our prayers for you during this trying time.
